3-6 Afterschool
Mon-Fri | 3:30-4:30pm and/or 4:30-5:30pm

Cost: $83- $99 based on day of week
General Afterschool provides a safe and happy place for students to engage in constructive activities and socialize with peers. This environment draws similarities to the Montessori classroom and children have opportunities to pursue art projects, games and stories as well as outdoor play when weather and schedule allows. A light, healthy snack is served.


MONDAY

Artists’ Workshop
Mon or Wed | 3:30-4:30pm

Cost: $138 (Mon) or $166 (Wed)
Artists’ Workshop is a popular staple of Afterschool activities and a lively environment for all manner of artistic expressions. Students use paint, fabric, feathers, wood and more to explore their inspired endeavors. Sue provides guidance and skill development, and the young artists lead the way.

Spring into Spring
Mon | 3:30-4:30pm
Instructor: NNM Dance Teacher Dana Christy
Cost: $149
Hop, skip, and bloom into beautiful flowers in this creative movement class with a seasonal twist. With the spring season as inspiration, students enjoy an active end to the school day. Dana introduces children to poetry, song, active games and introductory yoga poses. Students explore body movement and self-expression in an environment of play and fun.

Ballet 3-6
Mon or Thurs | 3:30-4:30pm
Instructor: NNM Faculty Kate Freund
Cost: $149 (Mon) or $179 (Thurs)
Kate brings years of classroom and ballet instruction to the dance room. Students take first steps into exploring classical ballet technique from developing fundamental skills from the five positions to simple barre exercises. Students are encouraged to have fun and express themselves through movement.

Introductory Ceramics

Instructor: NNM Art Instructor Sue Rodwan
Cost: $179 (Tues) or $164 (Fri)
Under Sue’s guidance, children take exciting first steps towards developing interest and experience with ceramic clay. Students are introduced to a variety of handbuilding methods in an environment of low stress and high fun. New and returning students are welcome.

BrainDance
Tues or Fri | 3:30-4:30pm
Instructor: Former NNM Dance Instructor Amanda MacDonald
Cost: $179 (Tues) or $164 (Fri)
Pairing her experience with developmental movement and the Alexander Technique with the methods of celebrated dance educator Ann Green Gilbert, creator of the BrainDance, Amanda provides a class full of music, movement and fun. Students wiggle and giggle, sing and squirm, while having a multi-sensory experience that promotes brain development, academic learning, sensory regulation, social-emotional growth and coordination.

Workout Games
Tues | 3:30-4:30pm
Instructor: NNM P.E. Instructor and Coach Jimmy Felton
Cost: $179
Every week is a new adventure as Jimmy introduces students to simple exercises and fitness workouts that are motivating and full of fun. Functional movement, group games and coordination are key. Students use outdoor climbing and running spaces when weather permits.

Primary Swim 1
Tues | 3:30-4:30pm (ages 4+)
Instructor: NNM Aquatics Coordinator Alex Bellisle
Cost: $198 (Tues)
This course is an orientation to water and intended to help children develop good attitudes and safe practices in the pool. Instruction emphasizes comfort, confidence and building skills through play and guided practice. Instructors teach safety topics and aquatic fundamentals including water entry/exit, blowing bubbles through mouth and nose, submerging mouth nose and eyes, retrieving objects, back/front float, front/back glides and swimming with life jackets.

Primary Swim 2
Tues or Fri | 3:30-4:30pm (ages 4+)
Instructor: NNM Aquatics Coordinator Alex Bellisle
Cost: $198 (Tues) or $182 (Fri)
For students who have mastered Primary Swim 1, Primary Swim 2 revisits basic skills through guided practice and promotes increasing independence. Skills covered include water entry/exit, bobbing, retrieving objects, front/back floats, front/back glides, swimming on front and back (alternating and simultaneous arm and leg actions), and changing direction/position and swimming with life jackets. Participation requires approval of the Aquatics Coordinator.

Little Artist, Big World

In this studio art class you’ll get to make beautiful art inspired by great artists. Each week’s class will begin with a story about an artist from around the world and their preferred medium. Whether you’re inspired by Romare Bearden’s collages, Marcel Duchamp’s found-object sculptures, or George Seurat’s pointillist paintings, you’re sure to have a blast learning the fundamentals of color theory, composition and mixed-media art.

Little Chefs
Wed | 3:30-4:30pm
Instructor: NNM Assistant Laura Piskor
Cost: $237 (Includes materials costs)
Those who love stirring, whisking and having fun with measurements will love this class! NNM Assistants Vanessa Noriega and Laura Piskor will share their passion for cooking and eating with all of our little chefs. Children will put on their mini chef hats and whip up something healthy and tasty every week.

Easy Moves
Wed | 3:30-4:30pm
Instructor: NNM P.E. Teacher and Coach Jimmy Felton
Cost: $179
Easy Moves with Jimmy is an exciting, high energy class that will be sure to keep kids on their toes! Kids will participate in fun individual, group activities and games, where they will be challenged with lower and upper body movements to gain more coordination skills.

Making Music

Through the incorporation of instruments, music and movement, Dalia guides children to investigate sound and song. Students bring music into their own lives and explore games, simple choreography and self-expression.

Fast Feet, Skills & Action

Instructors: NNM Assistants John Dickson & Sean Collins

Every day is fast action in this high-energy class where John and Sean introduce students to a variety of games promoting cooperative play, imagination and skill-building. Ball handling, running, balancing and endless adventures with games, both classic and new, make Fast Feet the ideal place for students on the move!

Participation requires approval of the Aquatics Coordinator.
