Jr. High Lounge
Mon-Fri | 3:30-4:30pm and/or 4:30-5:30pm
Instructor: NNM 12-24 Supervisor Cecilia Rubalcava
Cost: $46 – $56 based on day of week
Jr. High students gather to socialize with peers and work on homework as well as classwork. Students will have opportunities to attend home athletic events, enjoy the rooftop recreation area, play board games and use the art/craft supplies.


MONDAY

Digital Filmmaking Club
Mon | 3:30-4:30pm
Instructor: NNM Assistant John Dickson
Cost: $149
Learn the ins and outs of filmmaking, from camera angles to special effect techniques. With a production team of peers, students write a script and build their concept into a shot-by-shot storyboard. Using their own acting skills and Apple Creative Suite, students create videos and memories to last a lifetime.

Intermediate Band
Mon and Wed | 3:30-4:30pm
Conductor: NNM Band Director Dan Stark
Cost: Included with private lessons
This instrumental ensemble, under the instruction of Band Director Dan Stark, is for the second and third year band member. The Intermediate Band continues to build upon the fundamentals introduced in Beginning Band, (i.e., proper reading and ensemble playing) while placing emphasis on preparing and performing full-length band arrangements. Water Polo Team
Mon and Wed | 3:30-5:30pm (single registration),
Grades 5-8 only
Coach: NNM Aquatics Coordinator Alex Bellisle
Cost: $525
Water polo is an opportunity to expand swimming skills into sport. Students who have mastered basic swimming skills enjoy a chance to increase their technique and stamina during friendly competition with each other and outside teams. Swimmers must be able to swim 20 yards freestyle and 20 yards backstroke; experience on the NNM Swim Team is not required. Participants will also be billed for a suit fee. Homework Group

Instructor: NNM Learning Resource Teacher Kathy Siavelis
Cost: $179
Kathy joins students in the library for an opportunity to pursue homework assignments and continued learning. With more than thirty-two years of experience, Kathy is a wonderful resource for participants.

Beginning Band
Tues and Thurs | 3:30-4:30pm
Conductor: NNM Band Director Dan Stark
Cost: Included with private lessons
This ensemble is for the true beginner – no musical experience or knowledge is required.  The only prerequisites are that students must be at least nine years old and enjoy music. The six instruments offered at this level are the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and percussion. Students participating in private music lessons at NNM are registered automatically for the appropriate level band. Bands meet twice weekly after school under the instruction of Band Director Dan Stark. For more information about registering for private music lessons at NNM, contact programs@nnms.org.

Music Movers

Cost: $166
Teamwork, choreography and dance basics lead to hours of active fun. Students combine creative expression, moving and grooving with building stamina and confidence as they create fun, high-energy dances and perform in this one-hour active class.

Baking and Pastry (NEW)
Thurs | 3:30-5:30pm
Instructor: NNM Farm to Table Associate and Certified Baking and Pastry Chef Taylor Linsner
Cost: $358
Students will practice essential kitchens skills, focusing on measuring, mixing, following recipes and working cleanly and safely in the kitchen. Young chefs will master the fundamentals of baking and love working alongside their classmates making things like homemade marshmallows, Oreos, cupcakes and more!

Dance Crew II

Dance Crew II gives experienced dance students an opportunity to take their technique, creativity and performance skills to the next level. This fun and fast-paced learning environment challenges students to elevate their technical proficiency, while cultivating a supportive community where students are free to explore their artistic potential. Improvisation and choreography are central to the creative learning process.

Jazz Ensemble
Friday | 3:30-4:30pm
Conductor: NNM Band Director Dan Stark
Cost: Included with private lessons
This ensemble will concentrate on popular music from the 1940s thru today including Swing, Blues, Rock n’ Roll and Latin. Interested students must be Concert Band members due to the technical requirements of the music. Because of demand and the relative size of this group, chairs will go to interested eighth students first. Open Gym Hoops

Cost: $228
Get the best of both worlds with 90-minutes of basketball split between instruction and scrimmage. This is a great way for students in 4-8th grade to improve their skills and stay connected to basketball now that the season is over.
